My English classes

Hi bloggers! Today I’m going to write my last post in this blog, because it is for the English subject, and this class is ending. In this post, I will talk about my English classes and my progress in this subject.

When I entered to university, I started in English class in level 2, because in that year I didn’t understand much that language. In the school, the English teachers only taught us the basics, therefore, mi English level was bad. In English level 2, I could learn more about this language, but I thought that that class were very easy jaja.

When I passed English level 2, I entered to the class of English 3, and that level were very complicated. The difference between level 1 and 2 was very big! In that class, I started to make blogs. English level 3 was the most difficult subject for me, but in that class I learned a lot.

Now, I’m studying in English level 4, and it is very similar with English 3, therefore, is very complicated for me too! Jaja. In this class, we also write posts in a blog every weeks, and I think this activities are very useful for learn English, and are funny too. In my opinion, the blog’s activities are better than make a test, and also, blogs are interesting for know the opinions of my classmates in different subjects.

The aspects of my English I need to improve are the pronunciation and the listening. For improve these aspects, I try watching movies in English without subtitles. I think that I still don’t know too much about English, but someday, I will dominate totally this language!

My evaluation of this year

Hi bloggers! In this post I will talk about my evaluation of this year on the different aspects of my life.

This year has been very important for me, because I have learned a lot of things, and I have lived many nice experiences. In the studies, I have passed all the subjects of the first semester, and in this year I finally decided the area of my university career (psychology) that I would like specialize. This last point is very important for me, because it has allowed that my career be more interesting for me, and more entertained too.

Other aspect very important of 2014 was the birth of my nephew. He was born in February, and his name is Agustin… this baby has stolen my heart! Also, other important thing of 2014 was my second anniversary with my girlfriend, and I’m very happy with her.

In my family aspect, I had a very painful loss this year, because my grandfather died 3 months ago. This event taught to me for enjoy to people that I love, because any day, I can lost them.

I feel that 2014 has been a good year; also I think I have done my expected. My expectations for the next months of 2014 are pass all the subjects of the second semester, enjoy with my family, my girlfriend and my friends, and work when I finished the university year for collect money for my holidays jajaj.

The gender today

Hi classmates and miss! I just saw the video recommended by the teacher, called “Social media and the end of gender”. In this post, I’m going to talk about the gender today.

Years ago, in the world (and also in Chile), there was a great discrimination to women. Women could not vote, work, manage political office, etc. The women’s work in those years was care for their children; cook, clean the house, etc. Those years were very sexist, and just men were considerate like people.

However, currently the discrimination to women has decreased a lot. Today, women can do most of the activities that men do, and gender is currently something of little importance on our society, but there are still some acts of discrimination, for example, low pay, work harassment, sexism in business, etc. The change of last years has been positive, but still haven't been eliminated all genre differences on our actual society.

The video recommended by the teacher is very useful for understand the end’s process of genre in our society. The video talk about the importance of tastes, and not of genre. Currently, mainly in social networks, are not distinctions between women and men for generate changes in social media, because women are the main users. However, I hope that gender differences are destroyed in all areas of life in society, and not just in social media.

Facebook

Hi classmates! Today I will talk about a subject very known on the last years: Facebook.

Facebook is a social network on internet. In this platform you can see what think your friends, you can see and upload photos, you can talk with your friends online, etc. Facebook can be used on computers, cellphones, tablets, and everything that use internet.

I generally don’t use Facebook, because it I bored to me. A few years ago, I used Facebook every day and every time, but now, I think that this platform is bored and monotonous. Nowadays, I just use Facebook for see information for university and for talk with my friends. Also, I use this social network for see the news, because on internet the information is disseminated more rapidly. Sometimes, I write in my friend’s walls, principally for their birthday’s jaja.

I think the positive aspects of Facebook are the fast access for the communication in all the places of the world, the possibility of upload photos, and the access for the news on this platform. In my opinion, the negative aspects of Facebook are the addiction to it jajaja. The people addicted to Facebook, lose a lot of time in this platform.

Finally, I can say Facebook is a landmark in the history of social networks in internet, and I think this platform is essential in these times, where the communication is mainly through internet.

Environment and pollution

Hi classmates, the today’s post is about a very important topic: environment.

Nowadays, the world is undergoing many changes produced by pollution. Around the world exist many things that produced pollution, for example cars, toxic wastes, industries, etc. The pollution generates a great number of problems in environment, and is our duty takes care of our planet.

I think that the practices to combat the pollution should be taught in all the schools, and also the families should instill to children these practices. In my case, I don’t have many habits for recycling, but I think that I don`t have it because I haven’t received education on this topic. Also, I think that should be more opportunities for recycling in this country, and if it is done, would be more culture in Chile with respect to pollution, because it is missing in our society.

I prefer the use of bike instead of a car, so, when I can, I use the bike (also, I don’t have car, so I can only choose Transantiago or bike jaja).

I have never joined to an eco-organization, but I would like join. I would like learn a lot about the practices to combat the pollution, and I think that all the people should know about environment and its problems.

For now, I try of reduce my carbon footprint using the bike, using less water and trying to recycle.

My future job

Hi classmates! Today I’m going to talk about a matter very important for my life: my future job and how I think that it will be.

I think that my future job will be clinical psychologist, and the perspective that I will apply will be the systemic psychology, because this perspective is the most interesting for me.

I haven’t imagined too much about my future job, but I would like that it to be entertaining and interesting. I like very much the interaction with the people, and I think that is very important apply the psychology in family. Also, I would like work in a public hospital to help people of all social classes.

In my future job, I would like to work outdoors, but it would be very difficult if I don’t have a private consultation. If I work in a hospital, I will have to work indoors.

In my future job I would like travel a lot to other cities and countries to learn more about systemic psychology. Also, I would like teach about my job to other people and help to them.

I don’t can know how will be my future job in a few years more, but I just hope it is nice and that makes me happy. Bye everyone!

A good thing: the literature

Hi everybody! In this post, I’m going to talk about one of the most entertainment activity for me: the literature.

I’m a lover of literature and I’m frequently reading books of different writers. I go all the months to library for books, and I look for the most interesting books for read them. I don’t have any favorite writer, but I prefer the Latin-American writers. I generally read books of unknown writers, because I think that the Latin-American literature is not only Gabriel García Marquez, Julio Cortazar or the rest of the famous Latin-American writers.

The last book that I read was called “Todos se van”. This book was written in 2006 by a Cuban writer called Wendy Guerra. This book is about a Cuban girl that lives in Cuba between 70’s and 80’s. The book talks about the reality of Cuba in that period (the communist regime, the cold war, the exile, etc.). I liked very much this book, and it helped me to understand how people lived in that period in Cuba.

I don’t have a favorite book, but generally all the books that I read are interesting for me, because all that talk about different things and different stories.

The best holidays!

Hi everybody! today I'm going to talk about one of the best holidays on all my life.

My best holidays was in 2010, when I was 16 years old. In February of that year, I traveled with my parents to Foz de Iguazú. This city is ubicated in Brasil and it delimit with Argentina and Paraguay. We went on a bus, and the journey was very long (this part of the trip was terrible!).

We went for 2 weeks to Foz de Iguazú, and we visited the most important place of this city: The Iguazu Falls. The Iguazu Falls is the most amazing thing that I have ever seen in my life, because it is very beautiful and the waterfall is giant.

In that trip, my parents  and I did a lot of activities: We went to dancing shows, visited all the important places of the city, went to the near cities, and did a lot of activities more. Also I met many people in this trip.

I hope go to Foz de Iguazu again, because that city is really beautiful.

An interesting article

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to talk about an article that is very interesting (in my opinion). This article is about the discoveries of Piaget and also is about  her main concepts.

Piaget is a psychologist, biologist and philosopher. He is the most important children's psychologist on the world. He investigated about the intelligence development in children, and too he worked with the cognitive processes. I like this article because it speaks briefly about her main theories and concepts. 

The most important theory of Jean Piaget is the 4 stages of cognitive development; they are:

- Sensori-motor period (from birth until age 2)

- Pre-operational stage (from 2-6 years)

- Concrete operational stage (6-12 years)

- Formal operational stage (12 and up)

I think that this article is important for understand quickly about the work of Jean Piaget. Also, that theories and concepts can be used for differents areas of psychology and they help to understand the development in children.

The country that I would like visit

Hi everybody! I'm back to writing on this blog! Sorry for not write in a long time, but I was very bussy!

The country that I would like visit is England. England is the most interesting country in Europe for me. I have watched this country on the TV and it has a lot of interesting things. Also England is a place with many history that I would like to know.

If I travel someday to England, I would like visit all the importants cities of the country, and also I would like visit the Big Ben, the Windsor castle, the London Eye, and many places more. Other thing that I would like to do is visit the great stadiums of this country (especially the Wembley stadium). 

I would like go to England for studing some subject associated with the psychology, but my only problem would be the comunication in that country (because I don't speak English very good, but I will learn someday jaja).

And this is my favorite country that I would like visit. What is yours? Bye!!

My last post

Hi classmates! Today I'm going to write my last post in this blog. In this post I'm going to talk about my experience using blogs in my English class.

Using the blog and write about different things this year it has served me to improve my english, because the english class that I had in the school were not very dinamic therefore the classes was a little boring. Personally I think this experiencie are very usefull way to learn english, because it gives the possibility to use imagination in the same time you are learning.

Through the develop of the class I’ve improved a lot my skills for write and understand this language. Now I feel more confident when I write a text in english.

In the future I would like to include more activities related listening exercises, because for me this is the more difficult activity of the class. Also I would like to write about different topics related the personal interests of the students.

I hope that all the things I’ve learned during this class can be usefull for my professional life and my life in general.

I’m very happy to finish this process and I hope to continue learning english.
